The Spa town of Sklenné Teplice is one of the oldest spa towns in the Slovak Republic.
The first reference of Sklenné Teplice dates from 1340 when a small village of Skleno was established under the reign of King Karol Robert.
The town is situated on the edge of Štiavnické hills, directly in the picturesque valley between Hliník nad Hronom (located 8 km from Sklenné Teplice) and the village of Podhorie (located not far from Banská Štiavnica). You are never far away from beautiful sights and breathtaking natural beauty in this area. A small local stream called Teplá goes through the valley, surrounded by many trees and bushes. The town of Sklenné Teplice is not so far from the famous historical mining town of Banská Štiavnica which has been added to the list of historical towns protected by UNESCO.

The attractiveness of Sklenné Teplice comes from its thermal mineral wells where the water reaches high temperatures (ranging from 37 up to 52.3 degrees Celsius).
These wells are used for healing purposes and many patients and visitors have benefited from their natural power over the centuries. If you chose Sklenné Teplice as a place for your healing holidays or just a relaxing stay, you can use the recreational and accommodation facilities provided by town (hotel Žliebky and Slovan). You are more than welcome to come, unwind and sunbathe by the local thermal swimming pool during the summer season or indeed in the special pool situated in the spa complex.
