Mikroregión Bošáčka - cart
From a railway station in Trenčianske Bohuslavice situated between Nové Mesto and Trenčín in the northwestern direction of the main crest of the White Carpathians in the area of Veľký Lopeník, stretches a 18km long and 1-3km wide Bošácka valley, surrounded by wooded and veldt hills of the White Carpathians. There flows the brook Bošáčka. And this valley forms our microregion to be interesting not only from the cultural-historical point of view but also from the folklore and naturalist. It is an attractive place for explorers and tourists. Settlement of this area has been dokumented in stages by finds from the Stone Age to the Medieval Age.

Microregion consists of these villages and settlements:

The first written mentions of villages come from the 13th and 15th centuries. This microregion has 4 400 inhabitants. The highest hill is Veľký Lopeník (912m), which peak is on the border between Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

Some facts indicate the existence of the Eremits – monks at the end of the 12th century. They were the Benedictines from Nové Mesto nad Váhom who had changed their manner of life and became the Emerits. From this time comes the name of valley – of word „bosák“ – „bosonský mních“ (monk) – the Emerit.
