It is situated in the Medzevská Upland at its joint with the east margin of the Jasovská Plateau of the Slovak Karst, near Jasov. It is located in the National Nature Reserve Jasovské dubiny, in the territory of the Protected Landscape Area and Biospheric Reserve of the Slovak Karst. It reaches the length of 2,122 m. There were 17 bat species found in the cave. Occurrence of the greater horshoe bat (Thinolophus ferrumequinum) and the lesser horshoe bat (Rhinolopus hipposideros) is important even from the European point of view. Its existence was documented as soon as in the first half of the 13
th century. The oldest inscription dates back to 1452. It has been publicly accessible since 1846. After reconstruction it was reopened for the public in 1924. The show track is 550 m long. Speleoclimatic sessions have been organized here since 1995.
