It is situated on the south-western edge of the Silická Plateau in the Protected Landscape Area and Biospherical Reserve of the Slovak Karst. Overall cave length is 5,080 m. It forms an entity with the Baradia Cave in Hungary. Horshoe bat (Rhinolophus euryale) forms about 1000 members´ colony, the only one of its kind in Slovakia. It is the most important finding-place on the Neolithic "bukovohorská" culture. The cave was discovered in 1926. It was opened to the public in 1932, including an underground boat trip. Currently, the show cave track is 1,315 m, including a 140 m boat trip.
